ICI Bucharest and Athena Study and Training signed an internship agreement

The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest and Athena Study and Training signed on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, an agreement on training and exchange of experience for students from Greece. The agreement was signed by Adrian-Victor Vevera, General Director of ICI Bucharest, and Ioannis Papaioannou, representative of Athena Study and Training.

The object of the agreement is the provision of educational services and the organisation of internship activities for a group of students aged 16 to 18 who study at a high school level in Greece. The students will participate in a program held in Romania between June and July 2026, which also includes practical activities hosted by ICI Bucharest.

ICI Bucharest continues to support educational initiatives for young people and programs that give them direct contact with a professional environment. The institute also hosted high school students on internships last summer, allowing them to familiarise themselves with research and development activities in information technology. Moreover, in December 2025, ICI Bucharest received a visit from a group of students and teachers from Athens, participants in the ERASMUS+ program.

Through this internship program, students can better understand how digital skills are applied in concrete activities within a professional and institutional environment.
