ICI Bucharest, in partnership with Romfilatelia and the Romanian Court of Accounts, launches the collection "Guardians of Accountability: The Legacy of the Romanian Court of Accounts"

The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest, in collaboration with Romfilatelia and the Romanian Court of Accounts, launches the collection of NFTs entitled "Guardians of Accountability: The Legacy of the Romanian Court of Accounts". This unique collection marks 160 years since the establishment of the Romanian Court of Auditors, highlighting its evolution from its establishment to its role in Romanian democracy.

The new NFT collection explores the history and evolution of the Court of Accounts, allowing the public to discover the key moments, visionary personalities and iconic architectural elements that have defined the institution over time. Each NFT represents a part of this historical route, from establishing the institution under the leadership of ruler Alexandru Ioan Cuza to its current role as guarantor of good governance.

The "Guardians of Accountability: The Legacy of the Romanian Court of Accounts" collection offers access to interactive experiences, including virtual tours of the Court of Accounts Palace, limited-edition commemorative art prints of postage stamps and governance rights in future NFT releases. In addition to this initiative, Romfilatelia put into circulation, on September 18, 2024, an issue of postage stamps dedicated to the anniversary of the Court of Accounts of Romania. This philatelic issue includes stamps depicting the portraits of Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza and George Ioan Lahovary and the architecture of the impressive Palace of the Court of Accounts, inaugurated in 1899.

As the supreme audit institution, the Court of Accounts of Romania has built an international profile by actively participating in international bodies as a member of the organizations of supreme audit institutions INTOSAI (International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions), EUROSAI (European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions), AISCCUF (Association of Francophone Supreme Audit Institutions).
