As part of the European-funded project "National Competence Centers within EuroHPC", ICI Bucharest created the Romanian National HPC Competence Center - RoNCC in the High Performance Computing (HPC) field.

RoNCC creates a network of skills in High Performance Computing (HPC) and functions as an interface to facilitate access to resources and capabilities in this field, both in Romania and in Europe, through the EuroCC network. Thus, the Center offers valuable resources to public institutions in Romania, educational institutions, users and providers of IT services and other interested entities.

Main activities:

• Facilitating access to HPC hardware and software infrastructure for the development of experiments, modules, etc.;
• Consulting services for the adoption of HPC/IA technology, from a technical point of view, adapted for the business environment (non-technical);
• Facilitating participation in dissemination and training events with general or specific themes, depending on the needs and interests of the stakeholders;
• Identification of stakeholders' needs;
• Providing support and guidance in the field of HPC/IA;
• Providing support to participate in open calls launched in the HPC/IA field;
• Facilitating collaborations and partnerships.

Areas of expertise:

• Mapping existing skills in Romania;
• Identifying the needs of users and potential users in Romania;
• Mentoring together with other NCCs;
• One-to-one meetings to identify stakeholder needs and directions for collaboration;
• Open call launch (infrastructure offered free of charge for proof of concept, experiments, models, etc.);

The vision of the Romanian National HPC Competence Center (RoNCC) is to establish a single point of reference and contact for academia, industry and public administration. All activities are focused and orchestrated as a single know-how hub for both academia and industry.
