The main objective of the project was to develop the quality control of ball and roller bearing rings, processed on CNC machines. In the bearing industry, hard turning, with high speeds, is increasingly used on CNC machine tools. This ensures the execution of the surfaces at a quality level corresponding to the rectification. To make more efficient the manufacturing process, it requires automated, flexible, open architecture control technologies, integrated into the manufacturing flow.
The project aimed at integrating the total control of the bearing rings in the manufacturing technology ensuring the quality of the bearings, providing information on the technological process and its control.
The main results: development of a mechatronic equipment, flexible, with open architecture, for multi-parametric control and analysis of the integrity of the surfaces of bearing rings; accurate and fast calibration methods; modular software for multi-parametric control, which includes a module for measuring open circular profiles by the LSC method; numerical simulation programs for testing and optimizing measurement software; statistical computation programs.
