Overall objectives of the project

The main objective of the project is to improve the cloud infrastructure management system, by introducing a system for costs and billing optimized for operation costs of Cloud services.

The project will ensure:

• Analysis of parameters / data measured at the level of data centers;
• Analysis of operation costs, measured data / parameters that need to be taken into account when developing a system for costs (billing);
• Development of a study on cost models for cloud;
• Designing a billing system for cloud infrastructures and data centers;
• Analysis of the security of billing services;
• Development of technical specifications of the pilot system for monitoring, capitalizing and charging the virtualized cloud resources (billing);
• Analysis of the implementation of the pilot billing system in ICIPRO platform;
• Development and testing of the functionalities of the billing service;
• Analysis of the usability of the billing system;
• Assessment of Cloud services – case study in ICIPRO infrastructure.

Project description

The new technologies, electronic services and interconnected networks are increasingly present in daily life, based on the availability, integrity and confidentiality of the processed, stored and submitted information. Data security and protection, performance, resilience and cost efficiency of cloud computing services are topics of present interest that address the needs of digitisation and digitalisation of the public sector and the supply of electronic services.

The project describes the stages of the implementation process of a pilot system for monitoring and estimating the operation costs of cloud services, by describing methods for the analysis of the parameters measured at the level of a data center and models for billing and streamlining the operation costs of cloud resources, which lead to an improved methodology for evaluating the Cloud services.
