Project Coordinator: Dr. Carmen Elena CÎRNU – Scientific Researcher II
General objectives of the project
- Propose an innovative alternative to the existing framework using Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) to automate and modify vulnerable systems according to specific requirements
- Develop a comprehensive cyber polygon platform dedicated to the energy sector
Project description
The Cyber Polygon initiative aims to establish a cutting-edge cyber range platform seamlessly integrated with organizations' operational technology (OT) environments. This platform provides a dynamic and secure space for hands-on training, technology testing, and real-time process evaluation. By simulating high-pressure scenarios, it enhances cybersecurity preparedness and response capabilities. Organizations can benefit from a robust platform that delivers practical solutions for cybersecurity training, technology evaluation, and process optimization, ensuring heightened resilience against potential threats.
Steps to accomplish project objectives
- Define Requirements: Identify and document the key user and system requirements to align the project with stakeholder needs and technical expectations
- Develop and Implement Applications/Tools: Design, build, and implement the necessary tools and applications to meet defined requirements and project objectives
- Test and Debug Applications/Tools: Conduct comprehensive testing and debugging to ensure the developed solutions function as intended and are free of critical issues
- Deploy Applications/Tools: Successfully deploy the tools and applications in the target operational environment, ensuring readiness for end-user utilization
- Provide Training and Guidance: Deliver in-depth training and guidance to end-users to facilitate effective piloting and utilization of cybersecurity scenarios
- Disseminate and Communicate Results: Share the project’s outcomes with stakeholders through structured dissemination and communication efforts, showcasing key achievements and insights
