Today, April 8, 2025, the official opening of the Digital Innovation Summit Bucharest 2025 (DISB), an event dedicated to digital transformation, innovation and cybersecurity, took place. Organized by ICI Bucharest from April 8-11, the summit brings together government decision-makers, international leaders, experts, academia and industry representatives to outline the strategic directions of a secure, sustainable and resilient digital society.
The event was opened with official messages from the Acting President of Romania, Ilie Bolojan, and the Prime Minister of Romania, Ion-Marcel Ciolacu, reaffirming the highest-level support for strengthening Romania’s digital capacity.
Also on the first day, high-ranking officials from the Romanian Government and state institutions participated: Tánczos Barna, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Alexandru Rafila, Minister of Health, Simona Bucura-Oprescu, Minister of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, representatives of Parliament and regulatory authorities in communications and digitalization, the Court of Auditors, academia and national security structures, as well as international guests from the European and Euro-Atlantic levels.
The first day was dedicated to the International Conference on Cyber Diplomacy, which brought critical topics for global stability in the digital environment to the forefront. The debates focused on international cooperation in responding to cyber attacks, combating disinformation and propaganda, regulating the proliferation of intrusive technologies, and balancing innovation, regulation, and sanctions in the field of AI and cybersecurity.
“The fact that the first day of the summit brought together leaders from all strategic state institutions and relevant international partners is proof of the collective commitment to digital security and responsible innovation. The Digital Innovation Summit is a platform for building trust and creating the digital future,” said Adrian Victor Vevera, General Manager of ICI Bucharest.
The summit will continue in the following days with debates dedicated to the protection of critical infrastructures, supply chain security, virtual education, intellectual property and applied research in the automotive industry. At the same time, participants are invited to visit the exhibition area.
