ICI Bucharest contributed to the roundtable "Overview of the current cybersecurity dynamics in the European landscape" within ECYBRIDGE

On May 22, 2025, ICI Bucharest contributed to the roundtable "Overview of the current cybersecurity dynamics in the European landscape" organized by the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Centre, together with the partners of the ECYBRIDGE Project. This event was the first roundtable of the project, focusing on the current dynamics of cybersecurity related to Critical Infrastructure (CI). The role of ICI Bucharest was to contribute to the Cyber Resilience by Design Critical Infrastructures panel.

This event aimed to address the strategic challenges associated with securing CI – including energy networks, transportation systems, healthcare, finance and communications networks – by stimulating cross-sector and cross-border dialogue. Discussions focused on the role of synergies in the defence and civilian sectors in ensuring the cybersecurity and cyber resilience of critical infrastructures, strategies for implementing cross-sectoral cybersecurity measures, current gaps in military-civilian cyber cooperation, and future challenges and opportunities in defence and civilian cybersecurity integration. The roundtable discussions will serve as the basis for a white paper presenting comprehensive conclusions, key findings and recommendations for strengthening synergies in civil-military cyber cooperation and critical infrastructure resilience.

The project Strengthening Synergies in Defence and Civilian Cybersecurity – ECYBRIDGE is a strategic initiative that unifies the cybersecurity capabilities of the civil and defence sectors across the European Union, creating a cohesive and robust framework to address emerging cyber threats effectively. By encouraging integration and alignment with key EU initiatives and policies, ECYBRIDGE enhances the EU's resilience and preparedness against cyber threats, ensuring a secure digital environment that supports the digital transformation of European security, economy and society.
