ICI Bucharest marked the World Telecommunications and Information Society Day with the workshop "Communications for the Future: Innovation and Research in the Digital Era"

The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest marked the World Telecommunications and Information Society Day with the workshop "Communications for the Future: Innovation and Research in the Digital Era" held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at the Palace of the Parliament.

"In an era of rapid digital transformation, our role as a research and development institute is essential. Our mission is to innovate, explore new horizons and actively contribute to developing technologies that shape the future of communications. We are here to develop intelligent solutions that meet modern society's needs and support collaboration between researchers, industry and government institutions." said Adrian-Victor Vevera, general director of ICI Bucharest, at the opening of the event.

During the workshop, current and future trends in the communications field were discussed, as well as perspectives on the direction in which research and innovation in telecommunications are headed. The two panels, "Transition to Digital Radio and the Impact of 5G Broadcasting in Romania" and "The Future of 5G Communications and the Impact on Society: From Automation to Human Interaction", analyzed essential aspects of the evolution of the media field in our country, recent developments in 5G technology and how they influence critical sectors of the economy and everyday life.

The event provided a platform for exchanging ideas and perspectives between participants and speakers. ICI Bucharest encouraged collaboration in the communications field and prepared the ground for a more connected, efficient and inclusive future.
