ICI Bucharest participated in DEMO DAY ROMANIA – ISRAEL

The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest participated, between July 7–8, 2026, in the demonstration exercise “Demo Day Romania – Israel”, organized in Brașov by S. CARFIL S.A., together with C.N. ROMARM S.A. and Improvate Israel.

The event took place at the Hărman Test Range and at the CARFIL Center of Excellence for Drone Pilot Training. During the two days, participants watched tactical demonstrations, presentations and applications of technologies used in the field of defense, security and rapid intervention.

Solutions from areas such as artificial intelligence, Digital Twin, IoT, secure communications, drones, autonomous systems, counter-drone technologies and applications for complex operational environments were presented. The event brought together representatives from the defense industry, the tech sector, and institutional partners, with a focus on testing, dialogue, and the sharing of experience.

ICI Bucharest participated in the event through the lens of the collaborations it develops in the area of ​​dual-use technologies and applied projects for the defense industry. An example of the collaboration with ROMARM is the UGV Max 1 project, an unmanned ground vehicle platform, with both civilian and security and defense uses. Thanks to its modular architecture, the platform can be adapted for several types of missions, from logistical support, emergency response, agriculture or natural disaster management, to tactical logistics, EOD missions, medical evacuation or integration into anti-drone systems. Through these projects, the institute brings expertise in technology, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and IT infrastructures.

Demo Day Romania – Israel provided a framework for presenting advanced technological solutions and for strengthening dialogue between Romanian and Israeli specialists. The event in Hărman showed that such collaborations can lead to concrete solutions, developed locally and connected to the current needs in the field of security, rapid intervention and defense.
