Access to accurate and reliable information is essential for combating disinformation and protecting democracy. In a digital environment where false information can spread rapidly, technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain can help verify information, identify manipulated content, and ensure data traceability. Dr. Eng. Adrian-Victor Vevera, General Director of ICI Bucharest, participated in the scientific conference “Combating Disinformation: A Shield for Democracy” on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, held at Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest, where he addressed the participants.
The event aimed to strengthen security awareness and identify ways to respond to the challenges posed by disinformation and hybrid threats. ICI Bucharest has addressed these challenges through research and cooperation initiatives, including its collaboration with AGERPRES to use artificial intelligence for analyzing and distributing reliable information.
The institute has also organized meetings with international experts focused on technological solutions for combating disinformation and protecting information of public interest. The conference was organized by Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest, together with the Romanian Academy of Scientists, through its Military Sciences Section.
