The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest participated as a speaker in the panel “Artificial Intelligence – between hype and reality. Technology, digitalization and efficiency in local administration,” held on March 3, 2026, at ROMEXPO, during the Congress of Mayors and Local Administration of Romania.
The event was organized by the Romanian Smart City Association, as part of Green Energy Expo – Romenvirotec, and brought together representatives of local public administration, government institutions, the business sector, and organizations involved in community development.
The panel dedicated to artificial intelligence addressed the role of digital technologies in increasing the efficiency of local public administration and in modernizing the services provided to citizens. The discussions focused on both the potential and the limitations of using artificial intelligence in administrative processes.
During the panel, the ICI Bucharest representative discussed the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence to support administrative processes, as well as the importance of collaboration between public institutions, the research community, and technology solution providers.
