On May 22, 2023, the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest participated in the Ministerial Conference of the Three Seas Initiative on Digital Transformation.
The event, organized by the Atlantic Council and the Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digitization, took place in Bucharest at the Palace of the Parliament, bringing together representatives of the governments and parliaments of the countries participating in the Three Seas Initiative with stakeholders from Europe and the United States to improve the digital dimension and exchanges of ideas in preparation for the Summit of the Three Seas Initiative that will take place in September.
"The event was a great opportunity to share knowledge, network, and form partnerships with industry leaders, decision-makers, and experts from Europe and the United States. I am confident that the results of this event will play a significant role in shaping the digital future of the Three Seas Initiative. By generating ideas and establishing collaborations, we can use technology and innovation to drive economic prosperity, foster regional integration and improve citizens' quality of life." said Adrian-Victor Vevera, general director of ICI Bucharest.
At the opening of the conference, Mr. Sebastian Burduja, the Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digitization, H.E. Kathleen Kavalec, Ambassador of the United States of America in Romania, Mrs. Luminița Odobescu, Presidential Advisor to the Presidential Administration, Mr. Mircea Abrudean, Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Romania.
The Three Seas Initiative aims to stimulate economic growth in Central and Eastern European countries by promoting investments in projects that improve areas such as energy, transport, and digital connectivity between participating countries.
