ICI Bucharest participated in the "Slove Muscelene" symposium

During July 13-14, 2023, the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics (ICI Bucharest) participated in the "Slove Muscelene" symposium, which took place at Câmpulung Muscel. The jubilee edition of this symposium proudly marks 15 years since the initiation of a national scientific event, which grew in scale and prestige, becoming an event of international importance.

ICI Bucharest was a co-organizer of this edition dedicated to the transformation of libraries into digital culture hubs, and Adrian-Victor Vevera, the general director of the institute, said: "Over time, libraries have managed to redefine their role and adapt to the new challenges and opportunities offered by the digital age. In recent years, libraries have profoundly changed their mission and how they provide services to their communities. They are no longer just knowledge repositories but have become central points of digital transformation and access to information. Today, users can explore these hubs of digital culture with access to information, interactive experiences and lifelong learning opportunities."

The event was organized by the Romanian Academy of Scientists (AOSR),  through the Institute for Advanced Interdisciplinary Research "Constantin Angelescu" (ICAI), together with the Central University Library "Carol I", the National Museum of Romanian Literature, the County Library "George Barițiu" in Brasov, the University Foundation "Carol I" and the DigiLib Muscel Association. The volume "Slove Muscelene - 15th-anniversary edition" was launched during the event, published by the Technical Publishing House.

The themes of the symposium "Slove muscelene" 2023 concerned the financing of libraries for digital transformation through PNRR and projects to transform libraries into digital culture hubs.
