The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest was represented by Adrian-Victor Vevera, general director, at the seventh edition of the Smart City Industry Awards Gala on March 30, 2023, at the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest. The event brought together leading smart city professionals and experts to celebrate innovation and excellence in the industry.
During the conference "Artificial Intelligence in the Transformation of Communities in Romania" at the opening of the gala, Adrian-Victor Vevera discussed the benefits of new technologies and the modernization of relations between citizens and those between citizens and public authorities, declaring: "The latest years represent an avalanche of entry into the market of terms such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, blockchain, distributed technologies, metaverse, technologies that are already part of our everyday life. Therefore, there is a need for all those who propose applications in these areas, as well as the requirements of the communities, so that they have a significant quality of life. Thus, I congratulate the organizers and the laureate of this gala, the event providing an excellent platform for exchanging ideas and perspectives on the latest trends and innovations in the smart city industry."

Smart City Industry Awards is an event dedicated to developing smart cities in Romania, aiming to identify and award actors involved in developing smart cities, including representatives of the business environment, central and local administration, academia, and civic organizations. The seventh edition had as guests Sebastian Burduja - Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digitization, Marius Humelnicu - Senator, President of the IT Committee, George-Cristian Tuță - Deputy, President of the Committee for Automation and the Future of Work, Iurie Țurcanu - Former Vice-Prime- Minister for Digitalization from the Republic of Moldova, Gen.
