ICI Bucharest participates in the Bucharest Cybersecurity Conference

Between October 12-13, 2023, the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest participated in the conference organized by the National Cyber Security Directorate – Bucharest Cybersecurity Conference.

At the event's opening, Adrian-Victor Vevera, the general director of the institute, discussed the promotion of Romanian initiatives in the cyber field, both from the academic area, hubs, and areas such as research and cloud. "Society is undergoing unprecedented technological transformations, increasing the number and types of cyber threats. Learning and developing skills in cyber security is a priority. Only through a well-trained and educated workforce can we ensure a more secure future in the face of emerging cyber threats." said the General Director of ICI Bucharest.

The conference was opened by Mr. Mircea Abrudean, Secretary General of the Government, Mr. Bogdan Ivan, Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitization, Mr. Adrian Țuțuianu, Deputy Secretary General of the Government, Mrs. Diana Sipos, Country Manager Eviden Technologies Romania, Mr. Iulian Chifu, President Center for Conflict Prevention and Early Warning, which presented the message of Mr. Nicolae Ciucă, President of the Senate, and Mr. Marius Haientz Patriche (Ministry of Internal Affairs).

With the theme "Exploring the critical issues of policy, regulation and challenges specific to the cyber security industry", the event addresses relevant topics in today's digital world. The conference includes presentations, interactive discussions and informative workshops, facilitating knowledge exchange between participants. Over the two days, the diverse range of speakers, including government authorities, industry pioneers and cyber security experts, share their experiences, best practices and strategies to combat cyber threats.
