ICI Bucharest participates in the "Holocaust Distortion and Education: Current And Emerging Challenges" Conference. National Measures In Place"

ICI Bucharest, as a member of the Working Group on the National Strategy for preventing and combating antisemitism, xenophobia, radicalisation and hate speech, participates in the international conference "Holocaust Distortion and Education: Current And Emerging Challenges. National Measures In Place", which takes place between October 28-29, 2024 in Bucharest. The event discusses the role of education in combating Holocaust denial and distortion and antisemitism, alongside the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).

This conference features experts and authorities who discuss current challenges in Holocaust education, focusing on lessons learned and the impact of recent international conflicts on Holocaust education.

ICI Bucharest emphasised the vision of how AI can facilitate a better understanding of the Holocaust, through interactive methods adapted to the modern public, thus contributing to preventing distortion and promoting competing or conflicting historical narratives.

The event in Bucharest explores national measures and good practices in education – in schools, museums, memorials and public platforms – to encourage authentic knowledge of the Holocaust and combat its denial.
