The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest is participating in the fourth edition of the Sydney Dialogue, a conference organized by the think-tank Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI). Together with the Romanian Embassy in Canberra, represented by H.S. Radu Gabriel Safta, Romania's ambassador to Australia, ICI Bucharest was also invited to the conference through Adrian-Victor Vevera, the general director, and Dan Cîmpean, the director of The Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate (DSNC).
"The presence of ICI Bucharest at the Sydney Dialogue represents a remarkable opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and the initiation of essential international partnerships for advancing state-of-the-art technologies and protecting critical infrastructures in the face of increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. In this context, we took a new step regarding promoting Romanian innovation and international collaboration, aiming to increase national capacities and integrate them into a global network of excellence," stated Adrian-Victor Vevera.
On the occasion of participating in the Sydney Dialogue, under the coordination of the Romanian Embassy in Canberra, the Romanian delegation met with the executive director of ASPI, Justin Bassi. The possibilities of bilateral cooperation in multiple fields were analyzed, starting from cyber security, including the exchange of know-how between research institutes in security studies.
At the invitation of the Department of Internal Affairs of Australia, Adrian-Victor Vevera will participate, together with the representatives of the Romanian Embassy in Australia, at the Cyber Champions Summit, dedicated to cooperation in the field of cyber security at the NATO IP4 level (with the Indo-Pacific partner states - Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Republic of Korea).
