ICI Bucharest present at the launch of the "Romania of Knowledge" project

The National Institute for Informatics Research and Development—ICI Bucharest participated in the "Romania of Knowledge" project launch on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, in the Central University Library "Carol I" in Bucharest. This national-scale project was initiated by The Academy of Romanian Scientists, the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila" Bucharest.

The "Romania of Knowledge" project's main goal is the development of Romania through education, science, research, and technology, which are essential for economic and social progress. It aims to establish a national debate forum and think tank that will bring together outstanding personalities from various fields, both at home and abroad. Participants include scientists, researchers, academics, experts, policymakers, and specialists, all collaborating to find sustainable solutions for Romania's development.

"We are happy to be part of the "Romania of Knowledge" initiative. This platform allows us to collaborate with top experts and contribute to developing innovative strategies for Romania's progress," said Adrian-Victor Vevera, general director of ICI Bucharest.

The thematic areas include education, research and innovation, communications, information technology and artificial intelligence, efficient and sustainable development, reindustrialisation, efficient and organic farming, health, culture, civilisation and spirituality, energy and mineral resources, human resources and social policies, ecology, environment and climate change and defence, public order and national security.

Each area will be organised into panels led by renowned experts. These experts will form "analysis and reflection groups" that will meet periodically to discuss and develop ideas and solutions. These working groups are open to specialists from academies, universities, public institutions, and the Romanian Parliament.
