Between December 7-8, 2023, ICI Bucharest participated in the 11th edition of the Smart Cities International Conference, organized by the National School of Political and Administrative Studies.
In this context, the representatives of the institute presented the paper "Hyperconnected Horizons: Decoding the Digital Sovereignty of European Smart Cities" in the Smart Governance & Technology panel, which focuses on the intersection of governance policies and technological advances in the context of smart cities, taking into account, at the same time, the concepts of smart cities and digital sovereignty in the European landscape. The analysis contributes to the academic discourse by encouraging a critical dialogue on technological innovation, governance and urban development in the contemporary European context.
The conference was attended by policymakers, academics, researchers and students. This anniversary edition focused on longitudinal studies of digital reforms, locally and globally, and the main topics discussed were e-government, e-democracy, social innovation, planning and urban development.
