ICI Bucharest participated, as a speaker, on the first day of the National Congress on Active Ageing, within the panel “Digitalisation of Longevity: from Applications to Assisted Autonomy”. The event, organised by the Romanian Institute for Active Ageing Association, brought together experts, representatives of authorities and members of the academic and private sectors to analyse the impact of digital technologies on the quality of life of older people. During the intervention, the ICI Bucharest representative emphasised the essential role of technology in supporting seniors and the importance of creating digital solutions that meet their real needs. The institute's main message focused on the need for a responsible transition to digitalisation, ensuring that innovation remains accessible, practical, and inclusive for all age groups. From a scientific perspective, ICI Bucharest highlighted that the digitalisation of longevity is a process that must be built around people, not just technology. In this context, the importance of increasing seniors' familiarity with digital tools, the role of technological education and the need to develop ecosystems where seniors can enjoy support, safety and autonomy were discussed. The message conveyed was future-oriented, emphasising that digitalisation is not just a technological direction but an opportunity to strengthen seniors' active participation in society.
