ICI Bucharest, through RoNCC, hosted the HPC & AI Workloads training

The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest hosted, on February 25-26, 2025, a training dedicated to High Performance Computing (HPC), workload management with SLURM and AI Workloads, organized by NCC Romania and NCC Spain.

This practical workshop brought together a limited number of 25 participants, allowing them to work directly on FinisTerrae III, one of the most performing HPC systems. Under the guidance of experts, participants explored essential concepts and applied advanced techniques for optimizing workflows.

During the two days, the trainees benefited from interactive presentations, real case studies and practical exercises, strengthening their skills in areas such as scientific computing, HPC resource management and artificial intelligence. The event was addressed to those just starting out in HPC and to professionals interested in optimizing computational processes.

The training contributed to the development of the community of HPC and AI specialists in Romania, the initiative being part of a broader effort of EuroCC, a European project that supports the development of skills in high-performance computing at national and international levels.

The National HPC Competence Centers in Romania and Spain are part of the EuroCC initiative, which supports the development and use of HPC technologies in industry, research, and public administration. They provide training, technical support and consultancy for the exploitation of advanced computational resources.
