The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest received, at The Diplomat–Bucharest Awards Gala 2025, the “Leadership in AI and Digital Infrastructure” award, granted for its contribution to the development of the first RO AI Factory initiative in Romania. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, during the 21st-anniversary edition of The Diplomat–Bucharest.
The award highlights ICI Bucharest’s activities in digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence projects, carried out in collaboration with institutional and private partners.
“We thank The Diplomat–Bucharest for this recognition. The award confirms the relevance of our approach to building the RO AI Factory, a national infrastructure dedicated to the development and testing of artificial intelligence solutions, in support of applied research and practical use in the economy and administration. For ICI Bucharest, the RO AI Factory means a concrete step towards increasing Romania’s capacity to produce, integrate and scale AI technologies in conditions of trust, security and efficiency,” said Adrian-Victor Vevera, General Director of ICI Bucharest.
The Diplomat–Bucharest Awards Gala is an annual event that brings together representatives from the business and institutional environment to recognise projects and organisations with notable results in the current year.
ICI Bucharest participated, as a partner in the European ECYBRIDGE project, at the Digital Unity in Europe: Futureproofing Against Next-Gen Cyber event, held on January 15, 2026, in a hybrid format.
The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest, in partnership with Wallachia eHub, organized today, January 15, 2026, an introductory webinar dedicated to the European initiative BSC AI Factory, with the objective of presenting the opportunities for access to advanced artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructures for the business environment, public administration and the research sector.
The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest participated, between 9 and 11 December 2025, in the international conference “Anchoring Cyber Resilience: Cybersecurity Strategies for a Unified Digital Europe”, organized within the ECYBRIDGE project, of which ICI Bucharest is a partner.
