ICI Bucharest was involved in the international workshop "Innovate & Protect: Securing Intellectual Property in Europe's Tech Frontier", organized by CRDF Global on behalf of the United States Department of State in partnership with the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Center. The event, held on November 25-26, 2024, aimed to raise awareness and develop best practices for protecting intellectual property in the face of emerging challenges.
Dedicated to participants from Romania and Ukraine, this workshop brought together international and regional experts from various fields, including technology, cybersecurity and public policy. The event's theme focused on the dual uses of emerging technologies and the risks associated with hostile actors who may exploit intellectual property for commercial or military purposes.
"Our active participation reinforces ICI Bucharest's commitment to supporting responsible innovation and protecting intellectual property from contemporary threats. The workshop was an excellent opportunity to learn from other experts' experiences and strengthen our capacity to protect Romania's intellectual property from global risks," said Adrian-Victor Vevera, General Manager of ICI Bucharest.
ICI Bucharest representatives participated in presentations, case studies and interactive exercises, addressing essential topics such as identifying vulnerabilities in intellectual property management, applying cyber hygiene practices to secure data, and due diligence in technology mergers and acquisitions.
