ICI Bucharest

ICI Bucharest was present at WindWorks 2026

ICI Bucharest participated in WindWorks 2026 on April 9, 2026, an event dedicated to wind energy in the Baltic region. The conference brought together experts, decision-makers, investors and industry representatives to discuss the evolution of the wind energy sector in the Baltic States and its role in economic development, strengthening energy infrastructure and increasing regional security.

During the panel “From Generation to Protection: Wind in Energy Security”, moderated by the ICI Bucharest representative, the discussions focused on the link between energy transition and security. As energy systems become more digitalized, connected and extended, including offshore, wind infrastructures are exposed to increasingly diverse risks. Attacks on control systems, data manipulation or cross-border effects of cyber incidents show that security must be integrated from the design phase.

The debate also highlighted the importance of operational resilience, based on concrete experiences. In a context marked by increasingly sophisticated threats, the focus is on systems' ability to continue operating and recover quickly in the event of incidents.

WindWorks 2026 was organized by the Latvian Wind Energy Association, the Lithuanian Wind Power Association (LVEA) and the Estonian Wind Power Association.
