The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest hosted a workshop for 30 Romanian and French high school students on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, as part of an ERASMUS program activity.
The meeting focused on artificial intelligence and robotics, with a focus on how these technologies are already present in everyday life. Students had the opportunity to learn about concrete examples of AI and robotics in education, health, transportation, communication, entertainment, and other fields they are familiar with, in an accessible, interactive format.
In addition to the presentations given by ICI Bucharest specialists, participants visited the institute's virtual reality and robotics laboratories. The visit allowed the students to see equipment and applications used in research and development and to better understand the connection between the concepts presented and their practical applications.
The event aimed to familiarise young people with emerging digital technologies and stimulate their curiosity about fields such as computer science, robotics, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. At the same time, the activity contributed to the exchange of experience between Romanian and French students, in the spirit of European educational programs.
Through such initiatives, ICI Bucharest continues to promote digital education and bring young people closer to science, technology, and applied research.
