On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest, through the Romanian National HPC Competence Center - RoNCC, organized RoNCC Connect: Bringing the Community Together around HPC, AI & QC, an event dedicated to strengthening the community built around high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), and quantum computing (QC).
The event brought together representatives from academia, the public sector, entrepreneurs, innovators, and experts in advanced technologies, providing a platform to present the results achieved within the EuroCC project and to facilitate dialogue among key ecosystem stakeholders.
The agenda included a presentation of RoNCC’s achievements by the project management team, followed by a keynote session and contributions from community members showcasing concrete examples of HPC infrastructure use in both the public and private sectors.
An important segment of the event was dedicated to the academic environment, featuring interventions from professors and researchers from major academic centers in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, and Constanța, who highlighted how HPC and AI are integrated into research and educational activities. The program continued with sessions designed to encourage the presentation of initiatives with collaboration potential and to facilitate connections between providers of expertise, resources, and technological solutions. The event concluded with an open discussion on next steps and future development opportunities within the community.
By organizing RoNCC Connect, the project team aimed to strengthen an active national collaboration network centered around infrastructure and expertise in emerging technologies. The event confirmed the growing interest in the use of HPC infrastructures and in the development of applications based on emerging technologies, both in academia and in industry.
RoNCC intends to continue its community engagement initiatives and support interdisciplinary collaborations, contributing to the development of the national innovation ecosystem in advanced technologies.
