The participation of the Director General of ICI Bucharest in the Digital Romania Forum

Adrian-Victor Vevera, general director of ICI Bucharest, participated in the sixth edition of the Digital Romania Forum, organized by the publication Financial Intelligence. The event, held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, brought together representatives of the authorities and renowned specialists in the field of cyber security to debate essential topics related to Romania's digital transformation.

In his speech, Adrian-Victor Vevera emphasized the importance of Artificial Intelligence, stating: "Artificial Intelligence is both an opportunity and a threat. It is a growing business, with significant investments in recent years. The emergence of ChatGPT has brought many questions and concerns to the fore, as well as immense opportunities for economic development and innovation. We must develop rules of ethics and ensure that these technologies are used for beneficial purposes."

The Director General also highlighted the paradigm shift in which civilian innovations are being taken up in the military domain, highlighting the impact of emerging technologies on society. "Artificial Intelligence is like a child. As you learn it, so you get it. It is essential that we enforce ethical rules and educate users to prevent malicious uses of these technologies."

The debates addressed the following topics of interest such as Romania's digital transformation, Digitization of Romania through PNRR investments, Governance of the government cloud platform, The application for accessing digital service platforms offered by the state, European Cyber ​​Security Competence Center, 5G technology and its social impact; 5G and cyber security; The global, European and national approach to the issue of cyber security; Digitization of energy services; The implications of digital transformation in the financial-banking sector; DORA - What the new regulatory framework entails; Innovation and AI/ChatGPT - opportunity or threat.

The event, supported by the Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC) and the National Authority for Administration and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM), was broadcast live on the online platforms of Financial Intelligence, providing broad access to the interested public.
