Workshop "Technological innovation in the field of SCADA", ICI Bucharest

The National Institute for Research - Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest hosted a workshop titled "Technological innovation in the field of SCADA" on November 26, 2019.

The main goal of the event was to present the project "Cyber polygon for industrial control systems - ROCYRAN," with Carmen Cîrnu, project manager, Florin Vidu, technical manager, and Ella Ciupercă, scientific manager, representing the project team.

This workshop will be the first in a series of events on this issue, with the goal of bringing together experts in the industry to identify best practices for cybernetics training and the development of cyber security capabilities.

ROCYRAN is Romania's only cyber range designed to train SCADA operators' cybersecurity capabilities in civilian public institutions. It was developed in response to the scarcity of SCADA technology professionals, SCADA cybersecurity professionals, essential information, and specialized infrastructures.

The project's goals are to create a cyber polygon for industrial control systems, develop the training capacity of IT&C professionals in SCADA systems, and develop research components in the area of cyber polygons, with the goal of establishing an environment for specialized training for IT specialists in public institutions in terms of cyber security and critical infrastructure protection.

Critical infrastructures that use SCADA systems, the digital forensics industry, information security specialists, and academics are the project's target audiences.
