ICI visits SELEC

Yesterday, 27 September, a delegation of the Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest, led by Adrian-Victor Vevera, Director General, paid a strategically important visit to the headquarters of the Southeast European Law Enforcement Center (SELEC), where ICI representatives were received by the Director General of SELEC, Mr. Oğuz Serkant Akın.

Ms Tanja Levajkovikj, Director for Legal and Internal Affairs of SELEC, also participated in the strategic discussions. During this meaningful meeting, both institutions presented their activities and objectives in detail. ICI Bucharest, a recognised institution for research and development in the field of IT, highlighted its contribution to technological innovation and the development of advanced IT solutions.

On the other hand, SELEC, a regional body specialising in law enforcement cooperation in the South East Europe region, underlined its mission to facilitate cooperation between member countries in the fight against cross-border crime, especially in the area of organised crime and similar threats.

During the discussions, the potential for cooperation between the two institutions was explored. Possible points of contact between their activities were identified, in particular in relation to the use of information technology to improve the effectiveness of law enforcement efforts in the Southern European region.

This visit is an important step towards strengthening the collaboration between ICI Bucharest and SELEC, paving the way for future joint projects and initiatives. By combining their expertise in the fields of cyber and law enforcement, the two institutions have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the promotion of security and stability in the South-East European region for the benefit of the citizens of these countries.
