Visit of an academic delegation from Egypt, Jordan and Tunisia to ICI Bucharest

The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest had the honour of receiving, on Thursday, April 24, 2025, the visit of an international academic delegation consisting of 11 representatives of universities from Egypt, Jordan and Tunisia. The visit was organized with the support of the “Ovidius” University of Constanța, as part of an exchange of good practices within an international cooperation project funded by the ERASMUS+ program.

The delegation was interested in ICI Bucharest’s activity in areas such as virtual reality and its applications in education and public administration, as well as related topics such as cybersecurity, blockchain, and artificial intelligence. ICI Bucharest representatives presented a series of results of ongoing projects, the research infrastructure and the institute’s capacity to develop international academic and scientific partnerships. Discussions also focused on opportunities for collaboration in future research initiatives, academic mobilities and digital skills development.

This visit represents an important step in strengthening relations between academia and research, facilitating the creation of sustainable regional and international cooperation networks.

Romania takes a major step towards strengthening its digital and research capacities by launching RO AI Factory, the first national Artificial Intelligence infrastructure, built by the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest (hosting entity) and the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest, together with a consortium of academic, research and industry partners.
