The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest is a partner in the European project CyberINTEL-X – “From Detection to Action – The Next Generation of Operational Cybersecurity for SOCs and CSIRTs”. The project is coordinated by I-ENERGYLINK and is in the preparation stage of the grant agreement with the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre – ECCC.
CyberINTEL-X is co-financed by the HORIZON programme.
The consortium brings together 23 organisations from Romania, Greece, Cyprus, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Estonia, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Slovenia, the Republic of Moldova and Croatia. In Romania, in addition to ICI Bucharest, several institutions and organisations active in digitalisation and cybersecurity are part of the consortium. CyberINTEL-X aims to develop technologies and tools for real-time detection and analysis of cyber threats for Security Operations Centers (SOCs) and Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs). The project also aims to automate incident response, reporting and remediation processes.
Another direction of the project is the development of a cooperation framework for cross-border and intersectoral cyber crisis management. Activities will include exchanging information on cyber threats, improving post-incident analysis capabilities, conducting simulations based on digital models, and supporting decision-making in crisis situations.
