This volume is dedicated to a remarkable event in the life of ICI Bucharest – the anniversary of 50 years of existence.

The first part of the volume brings to the attention of the readers relevant aspects from the institute’s past and present: the sequence of organizational forms and the corresponding management teams, the representative professional achievements, including the references on the basis of which they have been written and the consent of their authors, and, finally, a synthetic view of the institute at this anniversary moment and of the future prospects.

In the second part, the volume presents the messages received from former general directors of the institute, from former and current collaborators from Romania and abroad, as well as from some former colleagues.
