Romanian Cyber Security Journal (ROCYS) is the youngest and most promising journal edited in English language, both printed and online versions, being published inside the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest and being dedicated to cyber security.

Cybersecurity has now become a national imperative and a governmental priority, helping to protect individual consumers and businesses, to ensure the functioning of the critical infrastructures on which our national economy depends and to strengthen national security. At the same time, all digital security efforts need to be carefully adapted to keep privacy, freedom, innovation and the open nature of the Internet unchanged.

From this perspective, ROCYS is a genuine resource for all cyber security practitioners, researchers and experts working in various areas of digital security and digital crime, wars and cyber attacks, worms and cyberworms, or in Critical Infrastructure Protection Area.

The scientific articles published in the ROCYS journal are selected on a peer-reviewed basis, written by computer security professionals, based on practical experience in national, governmental, corporate, financial, military, and non-profit organizations. The ROCYS journal welcomes the original contributions that present the unpublished results of the theoretical, conceptual or experimental research, while being an excellent opportunity for beginners, as well as a sign of excellence for cyber security experts.

In order to increase the impact of scientific knowledge specific to the field and the visibility of published scientific results, ROCYS journal stands as an open access journal in accordance with the open access definition of the Open Access Initiative in Budapest (BOAI) of February 14, 2002.

For the moment, ROCYS journal appears 2 (two) times a year, the spring edition and the autumn edition, while in the near future the journal’s periodicity will reach 4 (four) numbers per year. As a result, our journal does not publish advertising materials, being eminently focused on promoting scientific articles in the inherent interdisciplinary field of cyber security.

We appreciate that the vision of the ROCYS journal is that of increased knowledge of the cyber security field, as part of the educational process, a true digital red cell channel that transports health and security into our cyberspace. The mission of the journal is to increase the awareness and knowledge of the domain of cyber security and to create a cognitive basis for the collateral disciplines, becoming a genuine cultural benefit for the whole society.

In conclusion, a good cyber security forces us all, who belong to this virtual system, to actively participate, to cooperate, each of us to make our specific contribution by differentiation. If we want to have and develop an eco-cyber-friendly system for everyone, first of all we need to have a scientific education throughout the whole educational process. Each industry has its own lexicon, and the cyber domain is no exception, having a dynamics specific to technological progress.
