ICI Bucharest Participated in BlackSeaX – Transatlantic Dual-Use Forum

The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest participated on Thursday, February 19, 2026, in the BlackSeaX | Transatlantic Dual-Use Forum, an event dedicated to dual-use innovation and the role of the Black Sea region in the context of Euro-Atlantic cooperation.

Organised by InnovX, in partnership with MIT Mission Innovation X, the forum brought together representatives from public institutions, the security and defence sector, and the innovation ecosystem to discuss the impact of emerging technologies on security and regional development.

The topics addressed included the development of dual-use and deep-tech technologies, cross-border cooperation, cybersecurity, and regional initiatives in energy and defence. The discussions also focused on positioning the Black Sea region within Euro-Atlantic partnerships and the need for more effective collaboration between the public and private sectors.

ICI Bucharest continues its institutional dialogue and exchange of best practices in emerging technologies to support research and development projects relevant to both the public and private sectors.
