The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest participated, as a member of the Defense Industry Employers' Organization (OPIA), at the NATO Day 2026 anniversary event, organized in Bucharest on Monday, April 6, 2026, to mark the 22nd anniversary of Romania's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance.
The event brought together government officials, NATO representatives, military leaders and executives from the defense industry, highlighting Romania's role on the Eastern Flank of the Alliance, as well as the relationship between allied states and the defense industry.
Adrian-Victor Vevera, General Director of ICI Bucharest, was present in this discussion framework dedicated to institutional cooperation, the development of partnerships and the promotion of dialogue between relevant actors in the field of security, technology and the defense industry.
The agenda included high-level interventions, institutional dialogue sessions, a press briefing, as well as bilateral meetings aimed at facilitating the exchange of ideas, developing collaborations and outlining common directions of action in areas of strategic interest.
The event created a favorable context to promote Romanian expertise and to support the dialogue between research, technology and institutions with a role in the security field.
