Governance of smart and climate-neutral cities

Governance of smart and climate-neutral cities

The rapid technological evolution of the last decade supports the creation of a favourable framework for environmental protection, especially in urban areas, through the actions of all people involved. This paradigm of climate-neutral cities has led to a fundamental change in the governance of modern cities, its main objectives being enviromental sustainability, urban mobility, the creation of buildings with advanced management systems, effcient energy consumption, as well as active citizen participation.

However, efficient governance models are facing major challenges and legislative, social, ethical, sometimes even cultural issues.

As such, a balanced strategy should be adopted that would focus on technology-based solutions, ensuring both confidentiality, security and social equity. These rely on models such as Digital Twin, Smart Campus, but also on methods based on data collection from IoT systems, advanced data analysis, automated machine learning and the creation of some pattern extraction models.
